Engineering for Climate Action

Illustrations for course materials

Trinity College Dublin commissioned me to draw illustrations for their new post-graduate course on Engineering for Climate Action. The brief was to create an image for each module and combine these illustrations into one overall lead image for the course. The illustrations represent diverse people learning and applying key information from the course and the images are used in promotional and teaching materials by several staff members.

Here is what John Callagher, Assistant Professor at Trinity College Dublin and the course leader had to say:

“Laura has created a portfolio of illustrations that have captured exactly what I wanted. Her process of providing initial sketches, iteratively refining based on our conversations, have produced exactly what I need as visual interpretations of what my modules and course represent."

An illustration of a muslim woman holding a calculator and pointing at a graph about energy use statistics. She stands overlooking a modern building, wind farms and solar panels.
An illustration of a white person standing in front of a board with post it notes and a road to a goal post. Surrounding the person are wind turbines, an electric bus, a building, a woman speaking, the globe covered by CO2 cloud
