Collaboration journeys

Social Sciences Division at University of Oxford asked me to help them create inspiring visuals to show the different journeys researchers can go on when collaborating with partners outside academia. I was given a set of stories to work with and a challenge to represent different events and turn of events.

Using the Social Sciences brand colour palette, I drew each journey along a yellow path covering expectations, benefits, skills and challenges. I also created a separate process illustration for online training to clarify steps on how to plan for collaboration.

You can view the work on the Collaboration page of the university website.

I was sceptical as to the amount of information that could be conveyed in an illustration and how professional it would appear. However, I needn’t have been concerned: Laura really took time to understand both the content of the case studies and the tone we wanted for the illustrations. Her work is beautifully detailed and manages to be both visually light and information-dense at the same time. It was a pleasure to work with her and I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.
